I never heard that Charles Lindbergh was instrumental in tactics that made the P-38’s range so advantageous in the Pacific fight.

Incidentally, I learned that the P-38 was the brainchild of the same guy, Kelly Johnson, who dreamed up the SR-71 also along with many other innovations in aircraft design.
