LED light bars, 9D vs 11D

Looking at LED light bars.. extra backup lighting on the camper.. and maybe one on front if LED can match the old Hellas..

    What does the “D” rating signify (7D vs 9 D vs 11D??)

I’ve asked Mr Google but I’m not getting the question correct (He has the answer, if I can ask the question)

Joe, I used your question as quoted and got this...Apparently it has to do with the tempering of the glass lens......Ben

My new Jeep is the first vehicle I've owned with LED lights. It has them front and rear. But, still waiting for it to be built in Toledo. I'll let you know if I like 'em.

I had great success with LED lights that I put on a trailer.. x12 in by 1 in bars.. put out tremendous amount of light.. but the tail lights put out a lot of light everywhere (great for a taillight) but the subject light bar is replacing old school Hella driving lights,, a lot less current draw and heat generation.. but.. will they light up a reflective sign a half mile away.?

So did I...I added a few to my new ride, and lastly replaced the original tail/turn/brake lamps with LED's at which point I had to add 4 ohm resistors to each T/S circuit to slow down the flash rate...As for the front, I don't like the look of the rectangular light strip, I don't care how bright and efficient they are...I like my super-bright Hellas wired in as switchable with high beams only, and my tractor lights which are switchable as fog lights with the running lights...I still need to get some night pics for another photo essay, maybe when the weather improves......Ben

The mighty Cummins is still in place, but the "C" has been replaced by something a bit more understated......Ben

Umm, more than just a hint, but I also didn't mean to hijack the LED discussion......Ben
