A lap dog growls and a potential opponent fires back

If nothing else trump is sure fodder for humor---if you can step back enough to laugh at his insanity.

Yesterday was a little rocky for trump---but interesting from the sideline First was Gen Kelly who took multiple well aimed shots at trump. Next up, AG Barr who until now has been a wimpy lapdog, actually stood up and growled--good for him. Not to be outdone was Mr Bloomberg who shot right back in kind after one of trump's signature school yard bully tweets:

“@realDonaldTrump – we know many of the same people in NY. Behind your back they laugh at you & call you a carnival barking clown,” Bloomberg said in a posting. “They know you inherited a fortune & squandered it with stupid deals and incompetence.”
And that boys and girls is as accurate as he could have been without resorting to the normal expletives tossed in for flavor.

    ---"carnival barking clown"---excellent description.

Did he look sad over the carnival barking or sat back and enjoy it?

Have a teenage nephew who, as a young man, is now being included in adult conversation.. he is over anxious to participate and contribute.. I continually council him that if he just listens for a while he will pick up/understand more from the context of the conversation and hear what/how and when the grown adults are responding.. but, alas.. he still blurts out an idea that isn’t appropriate...

On edit.. Navy slang for a “Barker” is a “Hey Joe” as in, standing in front of a bar, Hey Joe, plenty good xxxx inside..

I do hope we can look back, in several years, and see the humor in these things.

Be careful who you listen to.. Don’t forget what happened in Virginia in 2019.. the Virginia GOP still doesn’t know what happened to them in November 2019, just this week they were blaming everyone except themselves..

The purple middle is pretty upset..

Just my opinion, I could be wrong..

Seeing the President attack Bloomberg has caused me to take another look at the New York billionaire. I'm starting to like him.

You’ll absolutely love him when he tells you what you are allowed to eat. You see, he knows what is best for you...because he just does.

I prefer logic over emotion as well. Don't know how to think any different.

To begin---I could not and would not vote for Mayor Bloomberg---the moniker of the Nanny Mayor was appropriate.

That said, there was much good done during his 12 years in office---and it could not be more obvious after six years of de Blasio. One simple example, the time it takes me to drive across Manhattan has doubled. That is caused by non-enforcement of traffic laws. Double and other illegal parking is rampant---something that didn't happen under Mayor Bloomberg. The NYPD has no time for de Blasio and so a lot of things are ignored.

Beyond the stop and frisk policy (which had it's origins under "the Little Hitler" Giuliani) some neighborhoods were virtually walled off. Police would check IDs of anyone wishing to get in (in some cases they used barricades). If you didn't have business there you didn't go. That had mixed reactions as well. The gangs were the most vocal against it. Moms trying to keep their kids straight seemed to have the opposite view.

Beyond social programs, the city got cleaned up----and spruced up. Parks were transformed. Crime went way down and the tourist trade grew.

Some of his moves were over the top---like the size of sodas--which was knocked down by the courts. He also had a "thing" about elevators---use the stairs, probably a good idea but who needs a politician to decide that for you

He also took personal advantage of his office---like his "private" helicopter pass.

All in all---a lot like trump---just not as much of an ass.

Not to mention how wasteful the coming investigations of the quid pro quo's from his privately controlled media empire will be. Will make the economic consequences of Trump's gouging of the SS seem like a spit in the ocean.

I recognize that the mayor of NYC is the chief executive of one of the largest organizations on the planet, but the performance indicators for that job don't resonate in fly-over country. Most "new yorkers" don't understand that double parking and vagrancy aren't what bring me to the polls.

You were reminded every time you flew into LaGuardia and got to taxi by his old azz 727.

BTW, hopefully you don't take the NY cracks personally. I think of you as a PA'er who is a sometimes NYC apologist.

Well, those of us on the left miss having Conservatives on this site. We don't know where they went when Trump showed up.
