Margaret Thatcher was a champion exposing and fighting Socialism in Great Britain in the 80’s. She left a legacy in that country. That fight is rearing its ugly head in our country, as it beguiles our youth in colleges and bars through a phalanx of professors and other fellow-travelers. Now, an avowed “Socialist,” Bernie Sanders, has bolted to the top element of one of our two great political parties espousing all the collective bromides and promises long offered by his Marxist predecessors. In last night’s Democrat debate only one candidate could muster any condemnation for the reprehensible political ideology when confronted by a direct question on it! It looks to me that we are gearing up for a classic fight between one side standing with and for the rights of the individual and the other standing with and for the rights of the state over the individual. It is a fight long in coming, but vitally necessary.

Sadly, the individual rights champion here is not one of Thatcher’s profound abilities and appeal, but “You fight with the army you have, not the one you want.”

A good article to remember for what PM Thatcher stood —
