    Romney to vote to convict

I remember Romney dining in NYC with Trump begging for a high level position in the administration. He did not get it........

    That is debatable.

I believe he voted his conscience. If he did that, I have more respect for him than I do those who just voted party.

I would venture to say that at least 25% of all votes were strict party votes with no thought of guilt or innocence .
Individual rights are protected only as long as they don't conflict with the desires of the state .

I tend to agree with most of what you have shared, however after the unfair sham job the House conducted turn about is fair play.

The restraint shown by you to my stance is admirable - and I mean that sincerely. For, I pay attention to what you have to say.

    Thank you.

For the rest of my friends here, what you heard from Romney regarding his vote was a religious response and can be examined from that point of view. If you are interested, listen to his explanation. It does not come from anger, it comes from applying his LDS beliefs. Mr. Romney responded as an LDS Priesthood Elder.

I listened to the entire speech last night and I found myself in almost complete agreement to Senator Romney's impassioned address to the Senate. I also gained far more respect for him in showing the courage to vote this way, in full awareness of the repercussions.

A comment on what Hunter said---for anyone who has a deep and abiding faith, and guides their life by those principles, no matter what they maybe, there is no separating their very being from their faith---and all of it's tenants.

I do not know how I would have voted. Yes, without a reasonable doubt, I believe trump did what he was accused of. What I am not sure of is the answer to the basic question, did those actions rise to the level of impeachable offenses. I am not equipped to answer that within the context of the Constitutional meaning. I am glad I did not have to face what Senator Romney faced---with real courage and conviction.
