Rush Limbaugh diagnosed with lung cancer...

There may be some who disagree with his views, but cancer is a nasty way for anyone to go...
"My intention is to come here everyday I can and to do this program as normally and as competently and as expertly as I do each and every day, because that is the source of my greatest satisfaction," Limbaugh said.

I used to listen to him back in the '70s and early '80s. One of his favorite sayings was "....."in my formerly nicotine stained fingers....." when he was talking about holding or handling something. So yes, I'm sure he was a former smoker.

I am no fan but I am sorry to hear about this---I would not wish such an end on anyone.

    From the WSJ:

On past shows, Mr. Limbaugh said he started smoking cigarettes when he was 16 years old and quit around the age of 30. He has continued to talk about smoking cigars.

Well if anyone has the resources to fight this with everything medicine has to offer it would be him. He has to be worth north of a half a billion. Like him or not he is one of the most talented radio guys in history.

That's my stance as well, Dave. Here's to hoping Rush responds well to treatment.

To further the fury of our Lefty friends who have rushed upon the news to shout how pleased they are, I hasten to point out that the spoken words of Rush Limbaugh have been voluntarily sought and heard by more human ears than any other human’s in the history of mankind (tens of millions people per word, ~200 days/yr. for 30+ years, 120 minutes each day subtracting commercials & news interruptions)...and no one else is even close.

The first report I saw of the Limbaugh cancer announcement was a headline on the Drudge Report, and when I went to the article it turned out to be a Twitter feed. On that Tweet the thousands of following tweets were mostly from people rejoicing over the news, most saying he deserved this fate. Sorry, but I have no clue how to cite a tweet, as I douched my Twitter account long ago.

I don't know the guy so have no emotional attachment. I found him to be entertaining sometimes, but wasn't a regular listener. But I think his political influence was underestimated and should he suffer an untimely passing it will be a blow to the right.

I have never been on facebook or twitter. I hate when I get a link to twitter as sports reporters so often do.
