Joe, your esoteric automotive values are widely known, but since the buyer on this dusty old relic was undisclosed, could it be that your intentions here are merely to acquire a stablemate for your winning bid, so it won't be lonely tucked away in the garage of your new abode?......Ben

I remember the "k" car - what was it a Chrysler? Thats when many of us in my generation started to question the direction the country was headed.

Yep, Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth all had their versions with Mitsubishi engines...In my mechanic career I worked on many of them, but it didn't take much wrong to make them not worthwhile to repair...Hence a lot of them got traded in somewhere while they could get to the dealership under their own power......Ben

That photo of a Daytona looks almost identical to one I used to pass tucked away in a parking garage across the street from the Harris County Courts Building back in the ‘80’s. That car was complete with the same layers of dust as the one in the photo. Daytona’s were top-of-the-heep even then, so every time I passed it in its nook under a ramp, I wondered about its story and how I could make it mine. There had to be one. My guess was it was illegally imported and was there awaiting some kind of legal proceeding, but it could have been any number of things that had it waylaid.

If you get the chance to see Ford vs. Ferrari, there is a scene that has multiple Ferraris in it. It is kind of funny, because you could tell the highest value cars, like a Dino, because there was only one in the scene.

I hear ya. Had a chance to drive a Cobra once and could not. the owner was 5'8" and the seat was not adjustable. I could not comfortably get from the throttle to the brake with my knees wedged under the dash so i had to pass.....

I think one of the greatest recent automotive advancements is that thingy to help me climb in the bed of my truck. I don't like to fit snugly in anything anymore. Its fun to imagine though.
