I first posted my guess of what these were trading for @$20M, and then did a bit of looking on the ‘net. I found one offered @$4M and then more that sold around $10M. I’ll leave it to youse guys with big barns and big bank accounts to figure out your bids, then bum a ride from you. Meanwhile, I’m buying my lottery tickets.

Of course, the Roma would be a nice cheap consolation prize in the meantime...are you paying attention, Hunter?

    Nice cars, my friends.

One of the things I've appreciated about this site is the affinity for motorized transportation.

    Well done.

Had an old fiberglass body (back in the 80's) that looked like this. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...-car-for-sale/

Got tired of dragging it around and never really got a chance to build a frame for it. Think I sold it for 4-500 back in the day. Should have kept it. Oh well hind sight always 20-20.

It sold new for an impossible $12,000 in 1961, when I first started drooling over its lines in Road & Track, but now can be had, if you can find a willing seller, around an impossible $10,000,000. Would have been a spiffy investment for my old age had my paper route paid a bit better than the $40/mn I pulled out of it.
Looking at this, one has to wonder IF, you were to ask the company to build you a one off of that model, how much do you think it wold cost ? Certainly less than the prices asked for for the original. AND, you would have the original.

I don't think so...To produce the same car today, it would have to be equipped to meet today's EPA and DOT standards if you expect to import it......Ben

Though admittedly much less practical for everyday commuting than the Ferraro 250, my idea of true automotive beauty rolls forward in this breathtaking Bugatti Aerolithe......

But for ordinary grocery hauling, I suppose I'll stay with the mighty Dodge/Cummins......Ben

“...admittedly much less practical...” is a bit of an understatement, especially for someone in Texas for a magnesium coffin with zero ventilation!

This the only Ferrari I ever got to drive and that was when I was working for Classic leasing in Santa Monica. We had do drive them from Santa Monica to Long Beach at the crack of dawn at 100+ and pull into the mechanics bay so they could do a proper hot tune. FUN as hell 6 of us 20 somethings unleashed in 308 GTBs on the LA Freeways for 15 minutes

That sounds like a dream job. I think I understand what you mean by hot tune but would you let me know about that a little more I'm not sure exactly what that is is it a Ferrari thing or just high performance cars

Ferrari said that they needed the valves red hot to set them properly. So fast we went.

That is a beautiful car. I can't imagine what it would be like to be able to get in one. Physically.

The 308 series was widely considered to be the worst Ferrari’s ever produced primarily because of the constrictions of the emission rules of the time in which they were produced. Being Ferraris, they were better than other cars of the era, but that era of cars just sucked.
