    I think the Science Magazine staff made rational and realistic predictions. And, it looks like our individual, local and national politics will link to our views of it all.

    The census prediction (?) seems oddly out of place. I am glad that the scientific community sees China as a potential threat. I was shocked to see recently that a number foreign universities were competing for a NASA grant. You can argue that science knows no boundaries, but this tired old man still remembers monumental "buy American" fights with the feds. No wonder we are confused.
