That was very informative on one of my bugaboos — the relative merits between square-head screws (Robertson Screws) and the evil Phillips Head Screws. I originated a post here some years ago in which I railed against Phillips Head screws, but I can’t seem to find it in a search.

For the benefit of us hearing impaired folks, did the video also mention that the threaded shaft is based on the principle of the inclined plane as used by the Egyptians to haul stone up to each layer of their pyramids?......Ben

when I rebuilt the 4500 linear foot redwood deck at my old house we used over 5000 star head deck screws, no nails. My camper has a couple of hundred square head screws on the roof gutters, seam strip covers and hatch covers. I hate flat head and phillips head screws
