Life expectancy drops in the US---in contrast to all other developed nations
Good news or bad news. The good news might be in the fact that this could lessen the strain on SS. The bad news is that despite having the highest cost for health care in the world---we are dying at a younger age.
Not mentioned in the article is another concern---these people who are dying, in what should be the prime of their life, no longer contribute to the GDP and the financial welfare of the nation (including SS).
