Dave, maybe we are arguing different things here. The last link you posted says SECNAV disagrees with the president, but makes no mention of resigning or being fired. In fact, SECNAV and the admiral have both disagreed with the president, but both deny having ever threatened to resign.
So, if your argument is that they disagree with the president, then we have no argument.
I think it goes further than that---I think the story changed to allow trump to save face by suffering a public show-down.
