The dealer sent me an email and asked me to take the lock off my credit reports--something I did years ago after one of them did something stupid. Now I had try to take it off---and that turned out to be a cluster Experian was fairly easy---the other two---not so much. As it turns out the people doing the credit search use Experian so I could punt on the other two!

I am hoping to be able to pick this up this week---- it was early Dec. when I ordered it. That is still better than my 2011---I ordered that in August and got it in April or May

Why do they need to view your credit report if you are paying cash???

Yeah that is what I was thinking and I also thinking how do you have such a high credit rating when you pay cash for everything and have no credit so to speak if you're not borrowing the money also how they can rate you I just guess it is what it is

At one point a few years back I was completely debt-free and was earning a very substantial salary my credit rating was 697 I opened the Home Depot card who said if I opened it I will get 10% off of a purchase and I was purchasing about $2,000 for the lumber so I did it I paid the payment for 6 months and then my credit rating went up 50 points so around 750 after that I purchased a Kubota side by side and 0% interest and have paid every time it on time and my credit score went up over 800. So I don't know how that all work but that's what's happening to me.

I woke up in the hospital after three months and once I got out I lost my house, car a couple of credit cards my mind, and ended up homeless with a 600 credit rating. Now with the hospital bills my credit rating is going to stay down. Didn't need anything else anyway I suppose.

    Well---it really does exist

I only have the 50 miles coming home from the dealer so my review is very limited. Because of the imposed limitations they could not go over the interior of the car since we could not maintain separation. We also wore, as they did, masks from the time we arrived until we left. When we arrived the door to the showroom was locked---they came and opened it. We went in and introduced ourselves (we had never been there before) but did not shake hands. We had 1 hour to take care of the paper work until the next customer would arrive for their delivery.

As we were about to leave I realized---someone stole the gear shift! Memories of Edsels and DeSotos danced through my head, but it wasn't on the steering wheel or the dash, it is in the console and looks very similar to the 4 WD selector in my 2016.
Just a knob to turn---plus you do have the paddle sifters on the steering wheel.
Before I got in I did notice one thing I very much liked---it is shod in Miclelins The last two have been on Hankooks and another was on Pirellies-----not so good!

Ok---the drive, it has a more solid feel than the 2016 with less body roll and the steering is crisp. Acceleration seems to be more than moderate but I did not give a real try. It is a 2.3 L twin turbo that is said to do 0-60 mph in 6.8 sec. That seems very credible to me. MPG indicated when I got home was 23.8 mpg--which is better that my 2016 would have done---by about 3.0 mpg.

There were no nasty habits noticed on my ride home. I have to say that we have come a long way baby in the world of cars. One might add that we have been pushed a long way by the Japanese--and without question that is true but we have benefited greatly from that. The 2012 which will go to one of the kids now has 158,000 on it and has never had anything other than normal maintenance done to it, It was "tuned up" once at 100,000 miles

My 2016 which will now go to my wife has 101,000 and could probably benefit from a tune up.

I can't believe we wasted this by space on something as mundane as a Ford Explorer that's about as Bland of a vehicle you can get and they're way overpriced.

Hey, we have plenty of time to waste on mundane things here and do it daily. I even remember lauding a Honda Element a couple of times, and I venture to say that a Ford Explorer looks like a Grosser Mercedes in comparison to that.

Also, please note that this thread has over 900 views, as I write, so even the bots take notice of Ford Explorers.

Now that right there is funny---I don't care who you are. I'm sure, in your normal post 9 PM state, you failed to recall you have responded to this thread FIVE times

I do have to confess, however, there was an ulterior motive---I expected at some point that our resident mean spirited jack ass would get a snoot full and just have to show off---and true to form---he did

BTW jack----no one forced you to read this thread and no one forced you to add your own worthless comments

Have a nice day jack ***

    Good response!
