The 2004 Nimitz Group UFO Encounters

The grainy videos you have seen are just to tip of the hidden iceberg —

    https://www.popularmechanics.com/mil...es-tell-truth/

The famous video was not the result of something caught by a flight of Navy jets which just happened upon a phenomenon while passing by, it was a patrol sent to investigate the culmination of several days of a series of radar trackings on a new highly sophisticated system which revealed unexplained teasing by unexplainable radar returns. Interviews of several Navy personnel recount that much longer and clearer recordings were made of the craft, but have been “disappeared.”

I struggle with these sightings, Joe, even the well-documented ones. I've had some weird encounters - but chalk them up to... well... freak occurrences and human frailties. In other words, I can't explain these things, so maybe I just need to trust someone else's interpretation of them.

I'm curious to see where others here stand on UFO encounters. Surely, we must have some members here who represent both ends of the issue. Maybe we even have a member or two who has personally encountered aliens. If so, I'd like to hear about it.

I’ve never seen anything I suspected of being alien, but I surely wish there to be alien visitors. How empty it would be to be alone in this universe of untold trillions of stars and planets. My Avatar belies my interest.

How could we possibly be alone? I cannot imagine any set of circumstances in which among all of those other stars and planets in the vast universe around us, ours would be the only one with life. It just wouldn't make sense to think we are so special that we are the only ones.

I also cannot think of any reason why a civilization far enough advanced to contact us would want to do so. We are a vicious bunch of barbarians with nuclear weapons who will kill each other for almost any reason, or for no reason at all. Why in hell would outsiders want to contact us? The first thing we would do is attack them with anything and everything we have. It they are advanced enough to come here, they know that and just sit back and observe. Or, more likely, laugh at how primitive we are and how great we think we are.

Nope, I do not believe we are alone. I do think there has been alien contact in the far distant past when we were of no danger to them. There is far too much evidence that points to that. But there is no way any sane civilization would want anything to do with us today.

There is every chance that we're nothing more than a third rate sitcom in an intergalactic TV Guide......Ben

Or, a computer simulation. Or, maybe just a very sophisticated, higher tech than we can imagine, computer game.

I'm with Joe. I would love to see an UFO. I have spent more nights than I can count in the wilderness under the clear skies looking for them. Nothing.

I'm in the camp that says its a really bad idea to put out the welcome mat. But, if we were invaded by aliens I want to see it. Maybe the Webb telescope can get us little closer.

The great theoretical limitation to visitations of an interstellar nature is the vast distances plus the speed of light barrier. It is possible that the universe is teeming with sentient beings with no way to physically interact. What a dreary thought that is! That would indeed be another cruel twist of fate and forced isolation.

Unless there are tricks we have not broached, such as the fictional worm hole or Stargate MacGuffins, it seems physically impossible to traverse the distances for us or other beings. Perhaps robotic intelligences could make such trips and not be limited by biological lifetime limits, but then why would we want to interact with such entities anyway? I would not.

I would hate to learn that the encounters such as the Nimitz one is merely a new military drone experiment. My life needs the thought of something out of this world to add some real wonder and dash.
