RV Petrel does it again!...

Petrel’s crew found the wreckage about 20,400 feet below the water’s surface, just at the edge of a steep undersea precipice and at a depth that pushes the limit of their underwater search equipment.

Saw this on the news and I think it's amazing.

"Evans knew his ship and the others in the task unit were outgunned, yet he attacked anyway..." We were very fortunate to be represented in that battle by the brave crew of the USS Johnston.

We were very lucky not to be represented by the current generation. I don't pray but there isn't many a day that goes by that I don't think of my dad's generation. Finding out that he was part of it has helping me to deal with a lot of demons, no wonder he was mad all the time.

We were very lucky not to be represented by the current generation...

We could not be represented better than by my niece’s husband who is a current member of an elite special forces team. He is not alone by any means. He brings home service medals for bravery, and we never even know where he has been sent or what he did. My two grandsons are sterling young men as well.

With that said, the saga of the Johnston, its captain and its men, was one of our most heroic episodes.
