    Anyone who uses or has loved ones who use opiates for pain, especially synthetics like Fentanyl, should keep naloxone on hand just in case of an accidental overdose. In Texas you can get it without a prescription.

    I've got two canisters of it sitting right beside the pills. Not sure if it's the law or what my doctor never said anything. The pharmacy called and told me I had a script I needed to pick up, I did and it was the Naloxone. Not sure it would ever do me any good, if I overdosed I'd not be able to use it and the woman I rent from is usually passed out from drinking. The Naloxone unit talks to you and tells you step by step what to do plus I've explained to her what to look for in case I ever ODed and how to use the unit, I don't think she'd be able to use it. I don't plan on it ever being a problem, I could triple my dose from 200 to 600 MG a day and not OD. I don't plan on checking that out either though.

    If you use Naloxone on someone who has overdosed, I am told by an anesthesiologist doctor friend of mine to be prepared for a very irate and agitated patient jolted out of his/her trip. The effects are not benign. Be ready to restrain the patient, they likely will be beyond unhappy. Help us here, TriGuy.

    Here's a good start...Our DA's office here has begun a sweep of some prominent purveyors of these drugs which were apparently distributed in an indiscriminate manner...One of those listed was very briefly my Mom's doctor when her insurance company insisted she had to hire a "primary care physician"...The insurance company recommended this one, and when I took her there I was not in the least impressed with him, his staff nor his office...Afterward I told Mom we should find her another one, which we did...She agreed, and from the article it looks like we made the right choice......Ben
