    One day more---another destiny

    From Politico---but take your pick.

William Taylor testifies about deep-seated push for Ukraine quid pro quo
President Donald Trump’s top envoy to Ukraine told House impeachment investigators on Tuesday of intense efforts by administration officials to secure politically-motivated investigations of Trump’s rivals in exchange for a White House meeting with Ukraine’s president and critical military aid, according to sources in the room for the testimony.

William Taylor prompted sighs and gasps when he read a lengthy 15-page opening statement, two of the sources said.

Another person in the room said Taylor’s statement described “how pervasive the efforts were” among Trump's allies to convince Ukrainian officials to launch an investigation targeting former Vice President Joe Biden and another probe centering on a debunked conspiracy theory regarding the 2016 election.

Taylor also described the extent to which military assistance to Ukraine and a potential White House meeting with Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart were tied to those investigations, the source added.

“The body language of the people hearing it was ‘holy s---,’ seriously,” Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Calif.), a member of the Oversight Committee, said in reference to Taylor’s opening statement.

Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), a senior member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, characterized the testimony as a “sea change” that “could accelerate” the impeachment inquiry. Another lawmaker, Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski of New Jersey, said it was “the most thorough accounting we’ve had of the timeline.”

“I’ll tell you, as a former State Department political appointee, in my experience the difference between career folks and political appointees is the career folks take very good notes,” Malinowski said, hinting that Taylor provided corroboration to back up his recollections.

Trump, who urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Biden in a July 25 phone call, has denied the charge that military assistance was used as leverage to bend Zelensky to his will. But the episode is at the heart of Democrats’ deepening impeachment investigation over whether Trump abused his power by leveraging America’s diplomatic and military might to benefit his 2020 re-election campaign.

Kind of hard to test “testimony” in secret Star Chambers with no cross-examination or transcripts, eh?

I voted for him because he is not a choir boy. Never forget the core basis of this latest attack is that he was trying to investigate corruption of top Democrats and they think that somehow unfair.

We’ve watched this week what a choirboy really is with the exposure of Mitt “Pierre Delecto” Romney.

    Certainly not this one.

In testimony that Democrats in attendance called the most damaging account yet for the president, Mr. Taylor provided an “excruciatingly detailed” opening statement that described in blunt and unsparing terms the quid-pro-quo pressure campaign that Mr. Trump and his allies have long denied.

When he objected to that effort, Mr. Taylor said in his opening statement, Gordon D. Sondland, the United States ambassador to the European Union and a Trump campaign donor, sought to explain Mr. Trump’s actions by noting that he was a businessman. Mr. Taylor recounted Mr. Sondland saying that, “when a businessman is about to sign a check to someone who owes him something, he said, the businessman asks that person to pay up before signing the check.”
What Sondland didn't say is after trump would extract his last bit of blood from some poor sucker----he laughed, put his check book back in his pocket and walked away.

Some questions about Amb. Taylor’s secret testimony if due process should ever enter the process —

You’d rather trust leaks from the dungeon?

Oh, btw, even the leaks from Schiff’s mouth relate that Taylor’s testimony is apparently 100% hearsay.

Check your own links above and I think you will find that every single allegation he makes is what he heard from someone else, many of which are third and forth hand. Maybe Taylor is the mysterious whistleblower because they both have that in common.

That’s why cross-examination to test testimony is so important.

That whole spin is nothing but trumpets lapdogs whining.

This procedure, if you take the time to dig into it is not without precedence--in fact it is the norm. It was done in the case of Clinton and Nikon--by opposing parties.

The continual claims (including right here) that the Republicans are "locked" out is simply bull chit---this committee is composed of both sides of the spectrum---and all can ask questions of the witnesses.

In addition, the transcripts (real transcripts not trumpian transcripts) will be released to the public when the investigations are complete.
