What promises were made? Who made the promises? All this started before Trump did obama make the promises, Bush? Does anyone here have the first clue as to what the promises were? We've been there close to twenty years now if we stayed another twenty years we'd be having the same argument and we'd still be trying to figure out what promises were made. It used to be "Nuke EM!" now it's that damn trumps fault and we ought to stay there and keep feeding our children to those cavemen until we run out of children I guess. We'll still have the politicians kids I suppose but they'll never see the place much less fight there. If they allowed our troops to fight and forget about all the PC crap we'd probably already have been gone from there but that's not going to happen either.

As I write, Trump is yapping about his “Great Victory” in Syria in the latest momentary cease-fire. He should just “shut-up and leave the area.” Trying to take credit for something in this mess is an exercise in futility.

As I've said more than once, if he'd shut his mouth he wouldn't be getting half the grief and trouble he is getting. There are plenty of blue collar fixes but the suits not so much.

75 years ago, brave American troops honored a US commitment and changed history.
This is an example of what I was talking about in the first post of this thread.

Our politics concerning the Philippines were probably as screwy as our politics concerning the Kurds now. The comments down below the article has some good points and bad of course, here's one.

Delusional. That is the best word to describe this story. The Kurds an ethnic population of more than 30 million people spread out over more than five sovereign nations in the region not a nation themselves. The ones in question are fugitives from justice according to both Syrian and Turkish law you know the actual nations involved. The fact that they were enemies of ISIS and were therefore provided military aid to reduce American casualties in no way makes them a nation or a ally. The fact Syria wont protect them is because they attack Syrians. The fact Turkey is attacking them is because they attack and raid inside Turkish Territory. None of this makes them a ally or even more than 10% of the Syrian population. We do not have the legal right to claim part of Syria's Territorial property and bequeath it to anyone much less go to war with Turkey to protect Syrian citizens from the consequences of their actions. Giving someone military aid in the belief that it would save American lives does not make them a ally any more than sending humanitarian to Somalia made us allies with the warlords there.
