I cant imagine anyone asking President Reagan to see his concealed carry license...The mention of GHW Bush is consistent with the second hand information I have of him...As a mechanic, I worked with a man whose father worked as a groundskeeper for the Bush home in Houston...He said when he went to visit his Dad at the Bush home, the President and his family always greeted him by name, and asked about his own family...Later at Shooter's Station, one of my regular customers was a SS agent assigned to the then-retired President Bush...He said anywhere they went, he always made sure his protection detail was well fed and had adequate clothing for the weather...He also said they got to deep-sea fish a lot at Kennebunkport...President Bush also told them that he understood they were in charge of his security, and he would comply with any concerns they had wherever they went......BenOne favorite story was early in his Presidency when he came out of his room with a pistol tucked on his hip. The agent in charge asked: "Why the pistol, Mr. President?" He replied, "In case you boys can't get the job done, I can help." It was common for him to carry a pistol.

This one?......BenFor what it's worth... Always the curious, I separated the 11 Presidents/spouses above in two broad categories, as they come out clearly from the snippets of text attached, including Mike Meints addendum. These are "Fake", and "Real", without other considerations.
Putting them in chronological order, I got:
F, F, R, R, F, R, R, F, R, F, R
Then I went to check their political affiliation (I knew most of them, but not all). And I got:
D, D, R, R, D, R, R, D, R, D, R
Which pairs as:
F - D
F - D
R - R
R - R
F - D
R - R
R - R
F - D
R - R
F - D
R - R
Now, that's not much of a sample base, but 11 out of 11 matching pairs... I see a trend.

Compare that to nowRONALD & NANCY REAGAN
The real deal, moral, honest, respectful and dignified. They treated Secret Service and everyone else with respect and honor, Thanked everyone all the time. He took the time to know everyone on a personal level.

For all the fake bluster of the Carters, the Reagan's were the ones who lived life as genuinely moral people.
That is not to slight the Bush families, I might have had philosophical differences with GW but I never doubted the basic goodness of the man.

I’ll wager President Trump & family treat the staff and security very courteously.
