After suffering the endless gridlocks in midtown Manhattan last week created by the assemblage of something like 128 potentates of all kinds, with the most common trait between them being their egos and Chevy Suburban cavalcades---today is a blessing.

Today is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and the first of the High Holy Days which occur in the fall. My guess, based on the traffic this morning, is that at least 50% of commuters are Jewish or work for Jewish employers who are closed for the holiday. I wish all our Jewish friends Shanah Tovah, or happy new year. Since the holiday can fall anywhere from early Sept to early Oct the timing this year was perfect---thanks for the drive!
