Strange.... Being from out of the country she had to of been at least B licensed.... Not familiar with Lodi but winds must have been in play.

I'd rather make a down wind off landing than tangle with a semi....

Bo, landing zone is to the left of the center. You would have to miss by a couple of hundred feet from the frontage road to be on 99. for scale that is a DC3 on the far right. The wind generally blows toward the freeway from the lz

"The Sacramento Bee reported the center has had several deaths in recent years. Thursday's was the 21st death since 1981, according to the newspaper.
In 2018, the FBI agents raided the facility and seized records and video footage. In October of that year, a woman died after her chute failed to open."

Cut and paste from another article. If a construction company had that record they would have been out of business long ago.

The vast majority of fatalities are due to pilot error these days. People like to down size and find them self with not enough fabric out when it hits the fan... DZO's try to prevent it but have no control over what gear people jump.

Very few fatalities can be blamed on the DZO. Unless it's a plane crash.

Sounds like she had a larger canopy, went long before turning Base and then found herself struggling to clear the freeway before turning final. It's all guess work at this point.

And when it comes to sky diving accidents don't believe much you read in the media. You can die with a perfectly good canopy over your head and they will report it as 'his parachute failed to open'....

Per a buddy that use to jump Lodi a lot - White indicates pattern that should be flown. Red indicates pattern she flew. She should have never crossed the roads.....
