    An honest personal political commentary

First let me say I know that I have people on this board that don't care for me and in some very limited cases that feeling is completely Mutual but otherwise I think it's a great place to be around. I'm terribly troubled about our country. I think I can sum it up quickly and succinctly. In 2020 we are going to have the choice to elect a president of the United States. Our choice will likely be between Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren. What the hell has happened to our great country when those individuals are the only choices we have to lead us forward. That's it. Done.

What the hell indeed. It is why so many don't bother to get involved or even vote. It is a bad place we've found ourselves in.

Well, for what it's worth, I've agreed with your postings - much more than I'm willing to admit.

I think we can agree we'd like our country to do better. And, I too, have a problem doing that with the politicians we've got to choose from.

When about 55% of eligible voters vote it tends in IMHO send a message that 40% don't feel that they are either listened to or ok with the status quo. Don't no how to break it down other than to suggest one supports his/her candidate as best he can.

That said, with all the redistricting the Republicans did in almost all the states that they control it would seem that there could be some speck of doing the other side an unjust even-steven voting in those states. So in that regard I would be in favor of abolishing the electoral college.

    Just my 2 cents.

Abolishing the Electoral College would essentially be tantamount to allowing New York and California to elect every president from now on. If you're okay with that then I understand your point

I’m shaking my head trying to understand what gerrymandering has to do with the electoral college...

I ignored the gerrymandering part of the statement because it really didn't make a lot of sense especially in light of recent Supreme Court decisions.

Take a gander there if you want to see the result of doing away with the E C.
