There is more truth in that one than usually manages to invade the Post.

As for PA prospering---only in an academic manner----the price of NG to the producers is in the potty.

Anyone want to buy a few gas wells?

My Mother inherited some leases from my grandfather when he passed way back in the early '70s. I don't know long he had them but I remember the occasional seismic crew on his farm when I was a kid. I once found some blasting caps they left behind. My parents had a fit when they saw what I had!

Anyway, back to the gas wells. They never found anything that they wanted to drill until last fall. The wells are in production now. My Mother had split the leases between us kids and I just got my first royalty check last week.

I've been thinking of buying a really old truck and moving to Beverly Hills.

Oh! Wait! Just remembered that's in California. No can do!

I guess I'll just go back outside and finish cutting the grass.

Let me know if you could hire a poor but honest leafblower operator...After splitting the last check from my Mom's gas well with my nephews, I didn't have enough to pay for the diesel I'd burn in the old truck I have already to get to the edge of town......Ben

I'm going to guess they are oil wells and not gas?

I'm really not sure. I only recently learned that they drilled and are in production. After so many years of nothing I never thought much about it. Now I have lots of questions.

In-lieu of a road trip, you can tell by your check stub.

I would assume it would be similar to mine which gives amount (in my case they are in MCF, oil would be in barrels) and the real tell tail---price! My last checks show prices from $2.04 to $2.84, oil should be something north of $40/barrel.

The price I get never matches the commodities market posted price--it seems it is always less--driven by contracts. The current crude price is a little under $55/barrel--and dropping.

I have wells operated by two different producers and even those prices are not the same.

They didn't put any useful info on the check except for the amount. If I want to know anything, I have to due it through their website. Waiting on them to send login credentials .
