A special thought
I have listened to this piece hundreds of times, but despite having long ago memorized the lyrics I never thought of it beyond its place of origin in Les Miserables.
Today, as I was working , the Piano Guys preforming "Bring Him Home" started to play, and for the first time I noticed the dedication which proceeds the video.
"Dedicated to families who sacrificed to preserve freedom"
So, I invite all to relax with this performance and give thanks to all those who have not come home and to all those that did.
The lyrics:
God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there
He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.
He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.
Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy
You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.
