I've heard about the problems, but they seem to be rare when you consider the number of 44s that have been sold. I also wonder if it is happening during rapid fire? I sure hope mine is not one of them. So far, my only complaint is the 10 round magazine. It is just too small..........

What does “firing out of battery” mean? Does the Glock 44 have a battery?

It means the weapon fires before the bolt has closed. That's a bad thing. See the video in Ben's post above for an example.

Sorry about your mechanical issues but I'm happy that you like the sound of your suppressor. Interesting my dealer told me that his approvals were running just a tad over 90 days. I think I really need to go ahead and do it

The mechanical issues were expected. I'm trying to get as close to silent as possible. The rifle is made for folks who want to shoot high velocity ammo, so it was built for that.

Today I ordered a spring kit that should solve my problems.

Yep. I've experience that. Two cops my wife and I knew both lost their jobs because they fired their Glocks in the office (think "The Other Guys" for an example). Both thought their weapon was "safe" because they had ejected the magazine. But, the bullet left in the weapon did not know that.

However, other cops I know point out they think the Glock firing without the magazine could be a safety plus during a firefight. For, if caught reloading but with a bullet still ready to fire, they think they'll be able to shoot in an emergency. Hopefully, none of us are ever caught in a similar situation.

    Back to the suppressor.

I did a sound test with the Aguila 40 grain Subsonic Solid Point ammo. At the point tested, it put 101.4 decibels on the meter.

Then, I fired a CO2 powered .177 pellet rifle and tested from the same spot as the .22. It put 103.3 decibels on the meter.

So, as I thought, the suppressed .22 was quieter than the .177 pellet rifle. Cool!

I'll do a lot more of this sort of thing when I get it out to the farm.

I mostly like my squirrels since I have squirrel proofed the bird feeders. They just get what the birds knock to the ground.
