Pompeii has always provided a fascination with me since my boyhood, when I first learned of it. Later in the ‘80’s, I got to visit the site and that fascination only grew. The article below only enhances that appeal and makes me want to visit again. I am encouraged that Italy has embarked on a wave of restoration and preservation unknown since I was there and the site was then ill cared for.

My wife and I visited there in the 90's and loved every minute of it. I highly recommend it as a tourist destination.
