    From the daily briefing

NYT: A solemn homecoming: The remains of Col. Ray Knight Jr., who was killed in the Vietnam War, were returned to Dallas on a plane flown by his son. Colonel Knight was shot down in 1967 and later declared dead. His remains were identified this year.
Welcome home sir---and thank you---all gave some, you gave all. What a heart warming and fitting honor for your son

    Added in edit:

Bryan Knight was 5 years old when he said goodbye for the last time to his father, Roy A. Knight Jr., at Love Field in Dallas.

Fifty-two years later, Mr. Knight, piloting a Southwest Airlines flight on Thursday, brought back the remains of his father, an Air Force colonel who was killed in the Vietnam War, to the same airport.
Taken from the full article---which is a particularly beautiful tribute to Col Knight---and all that were part of this journey---including the public who witnessed this at Love Field. I urge all to read it.

These stories are all so sobering reminding of real family tragedies and all the others too numerous to mention.
