Here is an interesting article that partially disagrees with the stance I have taken here. While it does bring current politics into the matrix it does represent a partial differing view of some of the issues.

I have to disagree with the learned responders to the statement. Violent games have to, in some ways, affect the way young children view death. To them it isn't real since no one is actually dead. They can repeat the game over and over with the same figures so you must be able to do the same in real life. No one is actually gone forever.

If you killed a person in the game and he/she was removed from the system, perhaps they would realize that there is a consequence to shooting someone. The game would soon run out of figures and become useless. With no one left to destroy, the players may just decide that it is no longer any fun to just shoot people.

I’ve played the games, and it had no effect upon me.

So--that means that old men of semi-sound mind will not likely become mass murders---did I get that right?

Yes, but you were already an adult who knew the difference between life and fantasy. You were not in the formative years and learning what was right and what was not. You knew the reality of death and did not learn what was real and what was not from a video game.

I assume the authorities drew contemporaneous blood sample from these last three mooks. I will be interested to see if there is any drug involvement, especially with Betts.
