    Never miss a chance to take the low road

    trump just can't help himself

    By Max Colchester in London and Rebecca Ballhaus in Washington
    Updated July 9, 2019 12:53 pm ET
    WASHINGTON—President Trump assailed Britain’s ambassador to Washington for the third successive day, calling him “very stupid” and “wacky,” an attack that will present an early challenge for Britain’s next prime minister in managing relations with the country’s most important ally.

    Mr. Trump was responding to leaked diplomatic cables sent by Kim Darroch, a senior career diplomat who has been the U.K. chief envoy in Washington since 2016. In the secret documents, reported by Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper, Mr. Darroch described the Trump administration as “clumsy” and “inept,” and criticized its policies on Iran and trade.

    @realDonaldTrump
    The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy. He should speak to his country, and Prime Minister May, about their failed Brexit negotiation, and not be upset with my criticism of how badly it was...

    On Tuesday, Mr. Trump’s response followed up earlier criticisms of Mr. Darroch. “The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy,” the president tweeted. He added “I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool.”
    Maybe if someone gave him a pacifier it would help.

    Sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow.

    Now, if he would just stay off Twitter and keep his mouth shut, he would appear to be a lot more competent.

    Appearances and image are not very important to us in the Trump camp. Actions are, and I find very few of his policy initiatives with which I disagree. I see no one on the other side I would put out if they were on fire.

    Taking a few digs at this British lord who is his sworn enemy certainly does not change my mind in any minute manner, and as he did it in the Trump manner, it was not a surprise.

    On edit: corrected the original “agree” mistype to “disagree.”

    Not to mention the other side started it with disrespectful comments of their own. Like you WJ I don't always agree with Trump's style but I like his results.

    He can have the same policies without acting like a spoiled child.
