    Son started boot camp

I dropped it in at the bottom of one of my posts, hopping it just wasn't seen. But yes he started Monday or Tuesday not sure which. It's going to be hard not talking to him for 8 weeks.

I've been trying to get him in for four years. He got married two weeks ago so I questioned his timing but he's got a plan which is why I wanted him him in. For the first 17 years of his life I got him every other weekend and every Tuesday and Thursday night. So I couldn't teach him a lot, his grandmother, mother and sister didn't teach him anything. He doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs, cuss he a fine young man but a bit spolied and lazy. I'm hoping some of the lazy will get worked out of him!

Spoiled and Lazy are not good qualities for boot camp. Which service did he join?

Airforce. Yea I'm aware of the quality issue that is why I've been trying to get into a regimented arena so to speak. He's not a bum worked every day etc... In the service he won't be allowed to be lazy. When he was at my house I worked depending on the time I had. He worked with all summer after high school building a resturant, I think he's got more in him but then I'm a hard ass If you are supposed to start work at eight you need to be working at eight not dragging in at five after with a biscuit in your hand. He'll make it, couldn't be much prouder of the man he's turned into I just want his life to be good a go-getter, not somebody that waits for an opportunity. He'll have schooling a trade, more choices. Everything helps.

Good for you and good luck to your son. Lots more people view their military experience as valuable than not (post conscription of course)

His new father in law is a Major? some sort of high up officer in the Airforce National guard. So he has somebody watching which will keep him pushing I think.
