When I was growing up in the 50’s-60’s, we often had large static displays of tanks and military equipment from nearby Ft. Hood at events. We were actually allowed to climb into the beasts. I loved it. I doubt the folks will get that close to the M1A1’s.

The fireworks are being touted as enormous. Wish I could be there watching. Funny thing about fireworks displays...as soon as they are over, the experience is gone...puff. It’s a momentary thing. It’s like yesterday’s pain...as soon as it is over you can remember having it but can’t really recapture the experience.

I was against trashing the streets with tanks, but after that fear was put to rest I’m ok with some bucks to celebrate the founding of the greatest country in the world.

It isn't the country that is being celebrated.

Of course it is. Just because Trump occupies your mind don’t think he does with everyone else.

John Adams on Day Of Independence —

It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

Some don't even like him to leave the White House, so weep and moan he displayed a tank in his front yard.
Old redneck hillbilly borned and raised on a redwood stump.
