I am going to watch it tonight. Want to see who among the candidates can offer new refreshing ideas to solve the problems we currently have. Looking forward to what they have to say. I am sure they will get some hardball direct questions from the moderators like Rachael Maddow who will undoubtedly be objective and professional with her questions. Ought to be very enlightening as to where we are as a country.

They , as usual , pre picked the winner of the " debate " . Every other question was aimed at Warren. Guess they wanted to give her plenty of time to get her ideas out. Also, although I did not watch the whole thing, I did note , in the portions I did watch, that very few answers were about the question that was asked.
Actually thought it was pretty good I came away with a few thoughts first I came away with the idea that we would probably not have Private health care anymore also came away with the thought that taxes would probably go up and I also came away with the thought that highly paid individuals will pay a much larger portion of their earnings to the federal government. I also came away with the clear understanding that all the candidates will appoint judges that passed certain litmus test for their particular issues. So all that said I think that it is pretty clear for anyone with half a mind to choose which way they're going to go. You can vote against Trump because you hate him and vote for the Democrat because you hate Trump or you can vote for Trump because you hate the Democrat or you can just take all your damn money out of the stock market and move to Antigua.

I did not listen but I did see this in the morning papers---and you were far from being alone in your judgement.
The "watch" from the Washington Post:
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty” ---Sir Winston Churchill "Political extremism involves two prime ingredients: an excessively simple diagnosis of the world's ills, and a conviction that there are identifiable villains back of it all." ---John W. Gardner “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” ---C. S. Lewis
Looking at some of the polls ranking performance and at Dave’s recounts of minutes spoken, it appears roughly that the more they talked the less they ranked. I can understand why.

Well I am going to give it a go again tonight. Actually I think tonight has a real good chance of being "better" than last night. One thing is for sure there will not be any fence riders in 2020 because there will be NO gray area between the two candidates. One will be on Pluto and the other on Mars.

Well I have watched both of the debates and you know sorta formed some opinions so I guess but I'm waiting to hear is from some of our members who are not going to support the current president what are their favorites or who is their favorite

Bingo! Early results on the first poll I saw had Andrew Yang on top with 28.33% and Gillibrand dragging up the rear @ 2.13%. It’s early though so both and all can drop as their views are better exposed.

Remember when Rep. Joe Wilson spontaneous yelled out, “You Lie” to President Obama when he declared in 2009 in a Joint Session of Congress address that no Obamacare monies would go to cover medical expenses of “undocumented” aliens? Remember the brouhaha after Wilson made the simple declarative statement? He was rapidly castigated and forced to make an apology.
Flash forward 10 years to today after California has instituted Medicare funds to illegals and every single Democrat in last night’s debate swore allegiance to their leadership of government to guarantee healthcare to illegal immigrants and the concept that we owe it to them. I think they each owe their apology to Mr. Wilson and an acknowledgement that Obama lied once again about his signature plan.
Trump tweeted that revelation sealed the deal on his re-election. He should be correct.
Debates are good to smoke out the opposition. Maybe I should start watching? Naw, I lost my puke bucket.

Why in the world anyone supporting trump would bring up the issue of truthfulness is beyond me
But moving on; I did not watch, but in the NYT fact check this morning I found this of interest---and sad:
Senator Bernie Sanders
“We have a new vision for America and at a time when we have three people in this country owning more wealth than the bottom half of America.”
True.
Mr. Sanders is referring to a 2017 Institute for Policy Studies report that found Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Warren Buffett have more wealth — nearly $250 billion — than a total of 160 million people, or 63 million households, which had wealth of about $245 billion. That gap has likely increased in the last two years as the national income gap has continued to widen.
