Beautiful pitcher. My favorite part of the world. And right next door.

On the San Juan arm I only lack a short piece from Clay Hills downstream for a few miles and I will have gone from Bluff to Seperation Rapid on Lake Mead. Twice through the canyon and dozens of trips to Powell (mostly when I was a kid back in the '60's - it was a fantastic fishing lake back in those days). Moab down is on the list next (or the Green).

I have many backpacking trips in the canyon as well but they dont compare to the river. It smells like no other place I can think of and its the same here in Colorado as it is on the sand bar where Lake Mead drowned the river.

When you see the walls in the bottom of the canyon you begin to realize how remarkable John Wesley Powell and his crew were.

One of the highlights of my life, to this point, were my years in Utah with many weekends spent wondering about in the Arches areas.

“Wondering” is a good choice of words.

Give me a break---engineers are not supposed to be able to spell and spell check does not have AI to determine the use of an inappropriate word, as long as it is spelled correctly.

More to the point---my wandering brought me many wonderful hours of wonderment

And--to the misspelling---I--and my career were blessed by a handful of wonderful ladies that corrected my poor spellings. To them, I will be always indebted.

It sounds as if Spell Check was engineered less effectively than it might have been...I sense a business opportunity there......Ben

I have done it alone and with my wife along---that trip resulted in finger nail indentations in my right arm that lasted for a week

The pull off at the top makes spectacular terribly wanting.

I've spent a lot of time exploring NE Az, SE Utah and SW Colorado.... beautiful country.... NW New Mexico is simply for passing through to get to Durango..

I have a buddy that wants to do the Black Bear Pass from Ouray to Telluride later this summer... Have not been over that pass since the 90's.
