Another glitch...I can't access online banking to pay bills without allowing all 3rd party cookies...Brave has no option for allowing some; it's all or none...No sweat though, I'll use Chrome for that......Ben

I’ve been using it off & on and like it. Below is a link to an article on the browser with instructions on migrating your bookmarks and some hokey scheme to reward websites you cut out of ad revenue. I did not understand a word of either opportunity though being a computer nitwit.

I still use Chrome for some financial sites because Brave wants me to jump through too many hoops to get there...For ordinary browsing I like Brave because they eliminate ads without my adding any extensions...However, I re-enabled Google as my primary search engine because in DuckDuckGo about the first 10 results on a search are paid advertisements...Kind of contradictory to their original purpose, but I suppose they have to make a living somehow...They're just not going to make it off me......Ben

If you are using Google, you can bet your ass that they are selling your hits to advertisers to hit you later.

I know that, but I also use Adblock and Adblock Plus together on Chrome which means I never see the annoying bassads...As a plus, I never see those stupid little screencrawlers on YouTube videos either...I don't care how rich Google gets on the suckers as long as they don't bother me...:...Ben

After almost eight weeks, Brave's own tally says they have blocked 8,546 tracking cookies and 158,972 ads...Additionally they claim to have initiated 4,411 HTTPS upgrades and saved me 2.3 hours...I have no idea how they calculate that last one, but I do think Brave is slightly faster than Chrome......Ben

Brave informed me that an update was available, so I OK'ed it and it hasn't worked since...I'm back on Chrome......Ben

I did not update, so I will stay put for the time. I use Brave for a select few websites, but it has some growing to do.

Malwarebytes said the latest update of Brave crashes Malwarebytes...They said to uninstall their Browser Guard, restart the computer and reinstall Browser Guard for Chrome...They were right; doing that let Browser Guard work on Chrome again, but not Brave...They said they are working on a compatible version for Brave......Ben

I've learned some useful tools here today, my friends.
Thank you.

I had some further issues with Brave other than the continuing incompatibility with Malwarebytes...Websites got very slow to load...I got the "Resolving host" message constantly which can usually be fixed by clearing the DNS cache...Only it wouldn't let me...Further investigation showed that although Brave was not supposed to be retaining my browser history, it was doing it anyway, and I couldn't even clear it manually...So I uninstalled Brave, restored Chrome as my default browser, restarted the computer, and voila!...All is well again...So long Brave......Ben

Still using it intermittently. No problem like Ben describes.
