Back Home
We left on May 3 and got back yesterday, May 18th.
We took a river cruise on Viking Tours from Budapest, Hungary to Amsterdam, Holland. A distance of 1100 miles on multiple rivers and one canal. We traversed 68 locks in the process. Our elevation changed from 314' in Budapest on the Danube to the highest point of commercial ship traffic in the world on the Main Danube Canal at 574', then dropped back down on the Rhine to -6' at Amsterdam.
The ship was the Longship Viking Bragi.
We were in the following countries:
Hungary
Slovenia
Austria
Germany
Holland
Overall this was a great cruise---and I do (did) not like cruises. Everything was first rate, the service was impeccable and the attention to detail refreshing.
I will write more latter---I have work to be done!
