So carbon is beneficial when in contact with water, but criminally horrific when it contacts the atmosphere from my diesel exhaust...Interesting...Adams also explains that their carbon black colour keeps each sphere working for up to ten years, with no toxic waste slipping into the water below. As as a side benefit, they keep birds from reaching the water they need to stay alive...I wonder what the fish think about the perpetual night conditions in which they are forced to live...Never mind how ugly they make the body of water, who is making the profit from manufacturing and distributing the black balls?......BenTypically used around airports to stop birds from perching in nearby water, the black balls also turned out to be highly effective at keeping out sunlight.
The future is forged on the anvil of history...The interpreter of history wields the hammer... - Unknown author...
too funny. That is way old news they added those balls years ago. You can see them from I 5 just before you get to I405 in the San Fernando Valley. FYI that is the reservoir that almost failed due to the damn slumping in the San Fernando Earthquake of 1971 [Also called the Lower San Fernando Dam. Built as the southern terminus of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, storing drinking water for the city. During the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake it lost 30 feet of height, when the soil became liquified, collapsed and flowed into the water. Only through concerted actions, like draining water as fast as possible and heavy equipment work, was a complete failure avoided. ]

Is that the only reservoir with the black balls?
