Trump Can Run for Office From Jail

Can Trump Run for President From Prison?

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...lY?li=BB141NW3

“The Constitution actually is really clear about what the qualifications to run for president, or a member of Congress or Senate are.”

"Those qualifications—listed in Article Two of the Constitution—include being a natural born citizen, being at least 35 years old, and having lived at least 14 years as a resident of the United States. A potential candidate’s carceral status, however, is not listed in the Constitution as a requirement, nor is a candidate’s criminal record. A Trump who has been convicted by the state or federal government of a crime, then, is equally qualified to run as a Trump with no criminal record—at least from a legal standpoint."

If he runs from jail he will be running from a place most of Washington should be. If lying in Congress was criminal we would have to build multiple new Federal Prisons. Personally I hope Trump does not run and the the Repub's can run a fresh face that can kick Biden or Kamala's ass.

“Show me the man, and I will show you the crime.” — Lavrentiy Beria, Joseph Stalin’s infamous chief prosecutor stated the basis of Soviet Gulag prosecutions now adopted by New York’s prosecution team aiming at a man at all costs.

The team finally acquired income tax returns for ten years said to be ~60,000 pages each year. If a prosecutor could not find arguable crimes in that morass, he/she would be drummed out of the practice of law in infamy in two seconds.

    Agree!

Back in the ancient daze, I hade an older coworker who would often say” in politics, you are only a virgin once”.. it referred in general to political “has been” but specifically to Nixon (that’s how long ago it was)..

Now that I am older, I understand what he meant..

In my opinion.. if a person loses an election they should back out gracefully and only comment about the weather and sports team.. I have been wishing Hillary would stop talking for quite a while.. now I have Trump joining Hillary in the weather and sports commentors department..

My old coworker was right about Nixon...

I had a boss who claimed that the company kept a copy of every expense voucher that you had ever submitted.. somewhere in all of the vouchers was a mistake and if they ever wanted to fire you they would have a reason..

But with Trump.. I believe there is a “smoking gun” somewhere... why else does he (acting through the GOP Senators) not want an investigation into The January 6 insurgents and the attack on the capital... most interesting.. (the BLM claims are just a diversion..

Just my opinion, I could be wrong..

I believe that. Whenever one of our executives was let go, it was officially because of some procedural BS. My last boss was the most dishonest and corrupt person I ever worked for. Within a week of his hire, he told me to pad my expense account in violation of one of the cardinal rule policies (he didn’t know I was on the team that developed and rolled out our standardized policies). I retired within a month. He is perfectly clear that I consider him a worthless POS.

Excellent comments from the crew. For, I didn't post this thread to yank your chains. I thought it was extremely interesting to read one could hold the United States Presidency while incarcerated.

Will this happen - I seriously doubt it. I simply find it amazing it's possible.

The rules for elected officials do not apply to us regular folks. But what would you expect they make the rules.
