A Bit Of Aviation History Destroyed In Crash

Last of 1943 Northrop N-9M “flying-wing” prototype crashes killing pilot. An airplane I never knew existed, but now I know as a real loss. Very cool videos with probably the deceased pilot.

One thing that has always plagued pusher props is overheating...The 9M had a history of inflight fires...I just hope the pilot survived......Ben

Surprised such a piece of history was still being flown. Too bad.

I wonder why the question of the pilots fate? That thing appeared to have gone straight in and nothing is left of it.

I believe it's customary to make an effort in finding a piece of the remains before pronouncing the victim DRT......Ben
