    I want my veggies

O K, I admit it. I'm not the most knowledgable person when it comes to the crisis [ I think } at our Southern Border. There are just to many people coming across for us to absorb.

What is the answer ?. I don't know. What I do know is, if the President decides to close the border we will see a HUGE increase in the cost of and a sharp decrease in the amount of produce available for consumers.

In 2012 Statistics from the U.S. Department of Agriculture show that Mexico by far is the most important supplier of fresh produce to the U.S., accounting for 69% of U.S. fresh vegetable import value and 37% of U.S. fresh fruit import value in 2012. Now i realize that was seven years ago. I also accept the fact that the amount has increased in the past seven years. What the total amount is at this time I do not know. BUT, the fact is, if the border is closed, there will be a tremendous impact on available produce which will impact ALL of us.

Empty bins at the local grocery store will send a greater message to the American people than all the hours of blather on the tube from politicians .

Congress has to take action on the influx of people entering this country.

Trump isn't closing the border to goods and services, is he? He just wants to keep the border from being the swinging door that it has been forever....I think? Trade will still work the same, I don't know the politics that is going to be going into it that always screws things up but as far as product back and forth that ought to remain the same? I haven't looked at the news in two days so my opinion might be way off, so I would like to see some other posts on it.

A small excerpt from a larger article.

We’ll keep it closed for a long time. I’m not playing games," Trump told reporters during a visit to the Herbert Hoover Dike at Lake Okeechobee, Fla. Asked if that would include trade — Mexico is the country's third-largest trading partner — Trump said "It could be [closed] to all trade."

Who knows trump has a long history of talking while his head is up his a** and then changing direction after his staff pulls his head out---at least momentarily.

I wonder what the reasoning behind that is? He didn't get his way so he's going to punish everyone? What about the rest of central and South America?
Found it, on CNN but I found it.https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/31/polit...ntv/index.html
"And if we're going to give these countries hundreds of millions of dollars, we would like them to do more," Mulvaney told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
Between last year and this year, about $1.3 billion was allocated to the region, with the vast majority of it going to those three countries, according to a study from the Congressional Research Service.
Wow! Cutting off imports from the Southern triangle and cutting off thr freebies! They are going to be hurting which means more people are going to be coming to the US?

Well---the good news is they pulled his head out of his a**---at least on this subject.

Anyone thinking we have any credibility on the world stage would have to be part of trump's toothless tribe. This guy makes Obama and his lines in the sand luck like a rank amateur.

---and having the most fun watching all of this---trump's little rotund lover

As part of Trump’s “toothless tribe,” I get his negotiating tactics — others don’t. The Mexicans & Democrat open borders, Republican Chamber of Commerce crowd present a solid block to curtailing the waves of illegal intruders. His options are few, hence the bluster as last resort.

Trump and his tribe don’t care much what “the world” thinks. The world does not have our best interests at heart, which is why they are trying to flood us with their rejects. What, you say, “They are people not “rejects!” Oh yeah, then why no attempts to keep them or impede their leaving by their home countries?

Jobless claims reached a 49 year low last report. Some bad joke.

That's because Joe is smart enough to know it wasn't a "personal attack".

Lawyers should be used to personal attacks, Honda, you should be used to that. I often say it is nearly impossible to offend a lawyer. Besides, it is all good fun here. What would a day be like without a jab from Dave? It is ok to be wrong here, which is why I enjoy the privilege so often.
