    More woes for Boeing...

They're sure to get a summons to a court of inquiry in Tehran over this incident...Or maybe the blame can be pinned on the Israelis somehow......Ben

I don't see how that could be Boeing's fault.

In Iran it can't possibly be the fault of the Mullah or Ayatollah, so that only leaves the Israelis and the heathen, infidel companies led by Trump such as Boeing...It was probably meant by Boeing as an insult to Islam......Ben

And on a more serious note, Boeing does have a problem with FOD control...Awareness of FOD was something drilled into us from the first days of basic training in the USAF, and continued until I drove out the gate as a newly minted civilian...Every hangar door had the letters FOD painted in 30 foot tall print...It's a concept that followed me into every career afterwards......Ben

Does our pilots ever grab the wheel for anything now days. On the news it said the pilot should have turned off a switch and perhaps pretend he was in an old Cessna where we flew by the seats of our pants.

Per my SIL they touch the yoke very little, Airbuses don't even have a yoke, they have joy sticks on either side of the seat.
Normal procedure is to dial in heading and rate of climb shortly after lift off. They take the yoke again on final approach.

I am totally surprised at the lack of knowledge on this site. It is obvious to me that the A/C has been pre positioned for the newest JATO assisted take off.

It is currently in the planning stages and the tests will continue for a few more weeks. After the procedure has been perfected, all airports will remove all runways and the excess land will be sold for low income housing development.

A fund is currently being set up for the expected lawsuits due to noise interference preventing the new residents from viewing the View.

Wow! You mean I get to move in and watch airplanes take off all day, and HUD pays for it?...And since I'm already nearly deaf, I won't even hear the noise, but I'll get a cut of the court settlement anyway?...Hubba-hubba, sign me up!......Ben

I've done 4 hours in an A320 simulator and this is true... But then my BIL who was the instructor kept throwing engine failures and extreme weather at me so i was all over the joy stick and throttles.

    ^^^
If that incident truly happened as represented, how could it not have instantly been shared across the airlines community and certainly with the very aircraft lines in which it happened? How could the same thing happen again months later without the air-crew’s understanding? If this occured, the shared responsibility among people and various organizations to not dissimintate knowledge and fixes is appalling.
