No probably not but some of the earlier prototypes were not as large or as fast. Again I don't have any idea what he saw, nor does he. I just know he is not the only one that has had such an encounter and I completely believe him. I would be willing to wager that whatever happened was a military event.

I agree.. People think aliens when they see a UFO... Military makes more sense..

I've been tracked by Apache helicopters on my dirt bike multiple times. Not a UFO because I knew what they were. Still kind of freaky knowing they had the big guns cross hairs on my back

I did. Changed directions multiple times and so did they.... That's how i knew they were locked on to me. Gave me a low pass when they were done to say thanks.

I saw the knuckleheads are trying to ruin Rachel. Im bumping this thread so I can find my way back to it.

Wifey and made the trip on the extraterrestial highway in 1998? Lonely stretch of road back in those days.

And it still is lonely out there - which I like. The owners of the Inn at Rachel are generous and give permission easily to camp right by the Inn.

Certainly plenty of long open straight roads to aspirate that GT on.

I had a new thought last night on high speed touring. In the past, whenever I got my cars up over 140 or so, I always had “tires, tires, tires” going through my head. Last night my son was coming home from Austin on back roads, when a deer flashed out with no warning and he smashed it flush on the front. He was going about 70 and the animal went under instead of through the windshield, so it was not a disaster except for severe car damage.

If I ever have a car capable of high speeds again - which I am spring-loaded to explore, if I have one - I will be thinking “tires, animals, tires” in the future.

I almost hit a jackrabbit on my motorcycle going about 80. That was the first time my brief life flashed before me. The second time was when the little old man pulled out without seeing me and I missed him by inches. That was the last time I rode a motorcycle on the streets. I used to love riding but its not the same anymore. I have a KTM collecting dust.

I recall laying my Bultaco down many years ago, when Granny turned in front of me. Fortunately she never saw me and keep on as I slid passed her rear in a shower of sparks. A smart guy would have learned something about bikes right there.
