Superlative Burger in Salt Lake City

Asked the front desk at the hotel where the locals go for a quick burger and beer & was told Lucky 13 Bar & Grill and that it's a dive, but it's worth it & was not to far from the hotel either.

Without a doubt it's magnificent, one of the top 5 burgers I've ever had, if your ever in Salt Lake do yourself a favor and check out Lucky 13

My wife and her sister agree with your appraisal of Lucky 13. They have eaten there several times. I haven't made it there yet.

I would have thought Mountain Oysters were on the menu.

Fortunately, I've not had the experience of even seeing Mountain Oysters on a menu in Utah.

If you want Rocky Mountain Oysters then you must try the oldest and most historic restaurant in Denver that holds liquor license Number One in the State of Colorado, the Buckhorn Exchange. The steak is among the best you will ever have, I personally get the bone in Buffalo ribeye and have leftovers the next day.

Now excuse me, but we were talking about Rocky Mt Oysters and at the Buckhorn they get them in fresh and trim and clean, slice them & batter & fry them to a nice golden brown, very juicy and tender, best you will ever have.

Truly sorry to hear your reluctance to partake in one of the best culinary treats. Yes you can have horrid ones over cooked, not cleanes and slices proper, but once you have them from a master Chef you will wonder why it took so long.

It took so long because the EX Bulls were somewhat reluctant to part with their prized possessions .

My father, a rather "earthy" Mennonite gentleman, was touring a group of proper lady school teachers around our farm one fine spring day and one of the teachers asked my father about a group of animals in a field apart from the dairy heard. He said they were steers and were kept separate since they would only confuse things at milking time.

And yes---one of those delicate refined ladies just had to ask: "what is a steer"---to wit my father said: "a steer is a bull who has had his mind changed from ass to grass"
