Same here. Snow and more snow.

But, there is a silver lining. We're having a "normal" Winter. That's good news for Nevada and Arizona. For, Las Vegas and Phoenix get their water from our snowfall. Look for Lake Powell and Lake Mead to start rising this Spring.

I've been boating on Lake Powell since the early 70's. I remember it being Full Pool in the early 80's and have watched it drop to the current less than 50 percent... come on run off.

In my opinion the lake is at it's best at about 80% capacity. The best beaches and slot canyons open up.

Mead is going to get most of the run off this year.

We have already had a southern pine pollen drop a few weeks back but now it is back to below freezing..............

Now that I have a boat, not a canoe. I have plans to spend some time in the upper part of Powell, not sure when.

September is the best time to be on the lake. Cooler days and the crowds are gone. Bullfrog area is not as stunning as the southern and central portions of the lake.

Thanks, will keep that in mind. last time was years ago I was up by Hite Marina but then it was mud. In my one trip to Lake McConaughy in September I was the only boat out on Monday, all the Coloradans had gone home. Just found this on line. "There are currently no water-based facilities within the Hite Ranger District."

Hite is pretty much being turned into an ATV rental operation... Some Kayaking too... They also use it as a take out for the river rafters.
