Argue with her positions all day long, but to demean her for having worked a second job as a bar keeper and bar maid is a bit of elitism. It is not written anywhere in the Constitution that all members of congress must be lawyers.
Further to that--I will suggest that her 15 point defeat of Crowley came about in a big way from his elitist dismissal of her and her candidacy. He went so far as to send a "second" to stand in for him at a scheduled debate.
That kind of arrogance has a predictable outcome in a district like the east end of the Bronx.
