AirB&B Are They Trustworthy and Secure?

Was talking to a business associate and he was telling us about these AirB&B and he stays in them on buisness trips as well as vacations. He was swearing how much better than a hotel they are, is this true.

Does anybody have any experiences with these places and how secure is it when you stay in a spare bedroom & leave work samples and other personal items in the room while your out?

I have never used Airbnb, but I have used VRBO. They are similar type deals. I had no problem with VRBO whatsoever, however I was not sharing a space I had the whole place to myself. I did notice when shopping that Airbnb had lower fees than VRBO.
