The Dems today have taken the first step towards an impeachment attempt

This Cohen guy was brought before the committee today to lay the ground work for the Dems long time goal to impeach the President. Sad that it starts by believing the testimony of someone like Cohen. But when hate has over taken judgment the bad can become the good and the good can become the bad. Trump is not perfect by any means, in fact he is quite flawed in many respects. But in my mind he has not come close to anything to deserve impeachment. If they get him hope they do it soon so Pence 2020 or another Rep candidate can get in full gear to defeat the circus of wack jobs from the left that have thrown their hats in the ring. If they don't get him, they just need to put up a remotely moderate candidate and it will be a landslide, but if they keep going left and they are moving that way real HARD, don't count out Trump.

The Democrats are barking at noises in the night. Nothing will come from this.

I hope you are right, but my instinct tells me that bark is going to turn into a bite, sooner than later.

No way it would make it through the Senate.

Unless, of course, something truly incriminating comes to light. Even then, it will have to be something major.

I completely agree but I could see him impeached but the Senate will never convict him so it'll just end up like Clinton part 2

To have some such as Michael Cohen as your personal attorney for 12 years is a statement in itself. I have to ask myself what kind of system do we have, when the slime seems to always float to the top?

Trump will be with us for another term so lots of time to impeach, in fact maybe several tries. Just have a lot more silly hearings first.

Agreed, and one has to look no further than the D’rat competing roster for 2020 to observe more slime working its way to the surface of the political pond. Odd though, that characters as personally reprehensible as DRT can have such redeeming positions and ideas. That latter point is why I predict the onslaught of testimony such as a dirtbag like Cohen will have little impact — most everyone, including his political supporters, have long known Trump’s peccadilloes and shortcomings, so havevlong ago discounted them and look more to his goals, favorable or unfavorable, in deciding their votes and support. A few - Dave is one - decide by personal experience and/or righteousness.

I reckon his future prospects in his office will be determined by the county’s performance, whether he influences that or not, which is why the Democrats in office will try so hard to sabotage any U.S. performance progress while he is in office in a lead-up to the next election(s).

I think you are right. While I agree with much of what trump has done I disagree with the persona of trump--he disgusts me.

If he runs again in 2020 I cannot and will not vote for him and at this point the current crop of wannabes to run against him will leave me to do another write in.

If nothing else the image I painted of trump running up to the election has been born out--the man does not change.

He has surprised me with how meticulously he has gone about carrying out his promises. I highly doubted his conservative bonafides from his past history, but whatever his personal failings to the contrary, he is proving more worthy of his campaign promises than any president except possibly Reagan. He can’t be that bad, after all, the Lefties hate him more than anyone in history. That is sanctified territory.

As I have said before if Trump had never tweeted one time, had never got into petty pissing matches with idiots his approval rating would be hovering in the high 50's and he would be cruising towards re-election. But he did it his way and it's going to cost him. Agreed on the campaign promises. Most of them forget the electorate within 1 minute of breathing the intoxicating air in DC.

It would tickle me pink to see him elected again just to see the wailing and gnashing of the libs teeth. I didn't vote for him the last time I will this time simply because it will be a politician running against him again and he has proved at the least that he's better than the politicians. Wow, that's really sad right there, sad that I can say that not knowing who he'll be running against but know never the less that I'm probably right.
