    New knee

Last week got the new knee replacement. Still working out the exerciser for getting back 100% function. Only hurts a little now.

Be back feeling like sitting at the desk instead of using this tablet.

    later

Good luck with it Fred---most people seem to be much better for it

I'd like to get new knees, but I have a lot of doubts...For instance the amount of time necessary for full recovery...If I have to do one at a time, that doubles the recovery time...I'm already losing feeling in my feet due to my diabetes, so if they eventually come off, would the knees be a benefit anyway?...I have to balance all this against whatever time I have left anyway...Besides all that, there's the cost...

I'll be interested in your progress, Fred...Here's to a full recovery......Ben

Human knees weren’t designed for what a lot of us do through life. A little titanium goes a long way to remedying that, but my ex-daughter-in-law developed an allergy to titanium after her second knee replacement and it almost killed her. Very rare. Most are terrific after the initial misery.

Ain’t modern medicine grand. I just had my third heart procedure. All my uncles died of heart attacks in their forties before modern procedures. Trouble is the expense. For two little stents, which took eight hours in a hospital out patient bed, the charges the Medicare and my supplemental paid after chiseling down the doctor fees were ~$190,000! between my wife & me, I wouldn’t be surprised if SS sent a hit squad to our house.

Trust you’ll be back kicking azz pronto, Fred. Check the charges next quarter and let us in on it if you will. I would be interested. I don’t want to even guess how much we have invested in Dave.

First day of therapy. Had 95% bending and 14% extension. Should be closer to 100% and 0 % after therapy, but a great start.

Ah---but a wonderful investment it was for Dave is paying back at a rate that borders on being punitive.

Might I remind you sir, that currently you are acting an awful lot like one of those dreaded D'rats---enjoying the entitlements---while poor Republican Dave labors away to insure your continued well being.
