The Amazon bacon fat is triple filtered and does not have any of those brown-colored streaks that home rendered bacon fat has. I’m guessing those streaks have added bacon flavor and are a good thing, although I do not have a good way of testing that theory. The Amazon stuff is pure white like shortening. Also, when I heated it, I noticed some popping indicating there is some residual water in it, but not enough to create a problem. It is still a useful choice for me, but probably not as useful as Ben’s offer, Mike.

I pour mine from the skillet into an empty peanut butter jar inside an empty Folgers can...When the peanut butter jar is full, it overflows into the coffee can which I cap and throw out as soon as I have replacements ready...Therefore mine has the advantage of added coffee and peanut butter flavorings at no additional charge...Plus it's aged on the kitchen counter, never frozen like those inferior commercial varieties...

    Let the bidding begin......Ben
