The Amazon bacon fat is triple filtered and does not have any of those brown-colored streaks that home rendered bacon fat has. I’m guessing those streaks have added bacon flavor and are a good thing, although I do not have a good way of testing that theory. The Amazon stuff is pure white like shortening. Also, when I heated it, I noticed some popping indicating there is some residual water in it, but not enough to create a problem. It is still a useful choice for me, but probably not as useful as Ben’s offer, Mike.
