    RIP Rover

After wondering far longer than expected---and racking up 28 miles--the Mars Rover succumbed at the age of 15 years to a raging dust storm last spring and NASA has ended their attempts to communicate.

Job well done Rover You will live on for years in the data you provided

The mileage was admirable considering that road maps and off-ramps were non-existent......Ben

I think NASA will make a come back with it's project to put a space station in orbit around the moon. All the private competition will cause them to drive advancements as well.

    The original expectation---90 days

The belief is that the solar panels were covered by dust. NSA had hoped that subsequent winds would blow them off but that scenario didn't materialize.
